The Imo State Police Command has renewed its call to members of the public to come forward and identify over 450 motorcycles suspected to have been stolen, which were earlier recovered by operatives across the state. The Command noted that despite a previous announcement on April 6, 2026, many of the recovered motorcycles are yet to be claimed and remain in police custody.

The Command urged individuals whose motorcycles were stolen or snatched, either within or outside Imo State, to visit the Police Command Headquarters in Owerri or the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for identification and possible recovery. It advised prospective claimants to come along with valid proof of ownership such as purchase receipts, registration papers, engine and chassis numbers, or any other verifiable documents.

It further assured that due diligence and strict verification processes would be observed before any motorcycle is released, stressing that only rightful owners would be considered in line with laid-down legal procedures. The Command also encouraged the public to take advantage of the opportunity, providing contact lines—08148024755 and 08034773600—for further inquiries, while appreciating the continued support of residents in maintaining security across the state.
