To show a strong political support, stakeholders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) from Anambra South Senatorial District have donated ₦100 million to back Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election campaign ahead of the November 8 gubernatorial poll.
The donation was announced during an endorsement rally organised in the district. Jonathan Uzoigwe, convener of the event, presented the financial contribution as a testament to the party’s confidence in Soludo’s leadership and achievements.
“Governor Soludo deserves a second term for his remarkable performance, especially the numerous developmental projects in Anambra South,” Uzoigwe said. “We must also rally behind Chief Emma Nwachukwu, APGA’s candidate for the upcoming Senate bye-election.”
The Anambra South Senatorial bye-election is scheduled for August 16.
Speaking at the event, APGA’s National Chairman, Sly Ezeokenwa, urged voters to make history by electing the party’s first-ever senator from the district.
“APGA has never produced a senator from Anambra South,” he said. “We’re calling on the people to break this jinx by voting massively for Chief Nwachukwu.”
In his remarks, Governor Soludo praised the party’s unity and called for intensified grassroots mobilisation. He emphasized that legislative alignment with the state government is key to accelerating development.
“Chief Emma Nwachukwu will go to the Senate within the next two weeks. Vote for him,” Soludo said. “We need synergy between the senator and the state government to drive the desired transformation.”
Soludo also reiterated his commitment to peace and security in the state. He appealed to armed groups hiding in forests to take advantage of the state’s amnesty programme.
“This is a renewed call for peace. Surrender and embrace rehabilitation, or face the full weight of the law,” the governor warned.
