In response to the deadly attack that rocked Agwa Community on June 4, 2025, the Imo State Police Command has launched a high-level security operation to restore peace and bring the perpetrators to justice. The assault, which claimed three lives and left several others injured, has drawn swift and decisive action from the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma.

Determined to prevent further bloodshed, CP Danjuma has deployed the Command’s Tactical Units to the area, supported by actionable intelligence and reinforced collaboration with local vigilantes and sister security agencies. The mission: to hunt down the criminal elements behind the violent disturbance.

A coordinated manhunt, led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Operations, is currently underway. Security forces are combing through identified forest zones and suspected hideouts in and around Agwa in a bid to track and arrest those responsible.

In a separate directive, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has been tasked with conducting a comprehensive investigation. The goal is to unearth the root causes and ensure all involved are brought before the law.

CP Danjuma, in a strongly worded statement, condemned the violence in Agwa and expressed heartfelt condolences to the affected families. He reassured residents that the situation is now firmly under control and urged them to go about their normal lives, as heightened security measures have been activated across the community and its environs.

“The Imo State Police Command will not rest until peace is fully restored and the perpetrators of this heinous act are apprehended,” CP Danjuma stated.

Residents are encouraged to support the ongoing efforts by sharing any relevant information with the police. A dedicated hotline — 0803 477 3600 — has been provided for swift and confidential reporting.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, promising that justice will be served without compromise.
