A suspected female native doctor has been arrested after the bodies of three children were discovered at her residence in Ideani Community, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

A fourth person found unconscious at the premises was rescued alive and taken to a hospital for medical examination, while the remains of the three deceased children were evacuated to a mortuary.

The identities of the victims, believed to be between the ages of six and 15, have yet to be confirmed. The circumstances surrounding their deaths also remain unclear.

Sources within the community said the children were believed to have either worked at the woman’s residence, where she reportedly engaged in livestock farming, or were her biological children. However, these claims have not been independently verified.

The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, was reportedly arrested by the police and is currently being detained at the Ogidi Police Division in Idemili North Local Government Area.

As of the time of filing this report, the Anambra State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident.

A video circulating on social media showed police officers at the residence following the discovery, while the suspect was seen being led away by security operatives.

Police are expected to provide further details as investigations into the incident continue.
