The Lagos State Police Command has started an investigation after a suspicious parcel arrived at the home of FirstBank Managing Director, Oluwasegun Alebiosu.

The package contained two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition.

Police Commissioner Tijani Fatai confirmed the incident during a press briefing in Ikeja.

According to him, a gateman received the parcel on behalf of Alebiosu. The bank chief later discovered the ammunition and alerted security agencies.

Police officers moved quickly after receiving the report.

Detectives have begun efforts to trace the sender. They also want to find out why someone delivered the parcel.

Fatai described the incident as a serious security issue.

He said investigators are looking into several possibilities. One key question is whether the parcel was meant to threaten the bank chief.

The case gained attention after reports emerged online. Earlier, a source within the bank dismissed the story as false.

Police are now following multiple leads.

Investigators are reviewing information provided by Alebiosu. They are also speaking with people who may help the case.

Fatai said the bank chief identified individuals who could provide useful information.

So far, police have not made any arrests.

However, forensic experts and intelligence officers have joined the investigation.

Fatai assured the public that officers will continue their work until they uncover the truth.
